An architect designed full house renovation with kitchen and porch extension. Our client bought a doer upper in a terrific Dublin location and had plans to bring it up to date. It was our pleasure to deliver quality craftsmanship on an exceptional design, making full use of available space and ensuring light and warmth were brought within…
Restoring this period gem to its former charm and glory was the brief here. No mean feat. The building had been gutted by a fire and left the internal space ruined. But the craftsmanship was delivered beautifully by Alan and John to bring this old home back to life…
A kitchen extension with a full deck surround, involving piling works and external insulation. From the outset this project presented challenging problems. How to gain living space and seamless outdoor use with a drop of 7m to the clients’ steep back garden.
A fully landscaped family extension full of design elements and requiring extensive steel works. In this instance our clients required updating of their 3 bed home and maximising the use of space…
This semi-D has had it’s kitchen transformed and the extension creates more practical living space, while accessing the outdoors area.
A bright, open, family living space & large bespoke kitchen move the heart of this home to the back. The extension is the showpiece in this modern bungalow.
External insulation wraps the whole house and makes the transition seamless, energy efficient and future proofed.
Reimagining the layout created new spaces and brought to life older rooms. The highlight is the beautiful, custom built apex glazing, demonstrating Sycamore’s expertise in fine finish, quality carpentry and craftsmanship.
Extra space made special, upstairs and down in this project for an attic conversion and a garden room extension.
Bringing the outside in, we created a room for all seasons, a new living space for relaxing and making the most of the sunny aspect. The feature of this year round room is a high, long window bringing in plenty of light.
Making double use of extra space we converted the attic for a spare bedroom come hideaway. Incorporating spray foam insulation in the roof rafters for sound proofing and energy saving, this space is now warm and very quiet. The beautiful and imaginative glass balustrade connects the original and new upstairs rooms while adding yet more light and a sense of space and openness.
Adding more rooms is one thing but re-configuring the existing to make the most of the new is where the real work is. This two storey side extension introduces well-proportioned rooms for a main bed upstairs and living room downstairs, with new glazing to match the existing. A clever reconfiguration of the awkward entrance and narrow stairwell became a welcoming hall leading upstairs to a bright open landing. We added a modern bathroom by converting the box bedroom. The real difference came with the addition of a roof light over the landing to bring in much needed light and a sense of space and height. So everything just works better now. Updated services and insulated walls mean it’s more energy efficient too. Last but not least, the unused side passage became a new storage shed for all the outdoor gear.
